Just came across some Stirling information on a Danish diving site. If anyone out there are keeping track on Stirlings, it might have some interest.
The following wreck was located a few years back. Only debris left, but at least it has been found.
Stirling MK.I
S/N W7441
The aircraft belonged to RAF 7 Sqn. Bomber Command and was coded MG-Y.

There are a relativly large number of wrecks in danish waters, but due to the amount of trawling since the 40’s, few of them are in any condition for recovery.
The allied lost around 500 aircraft in and around Denmark, most of them bombers.
The Germans lost some 1300 aircraft of all types.
Most were recovered shortly after crashing, but a few could not be recovered for one reason, or another.
However, there might be a He-111 in a lake. Seems it ditched and later sank. I can’t see Luftwaffe recovered the AC, so maybe its still there.
BTW I can “almost” read Dutch too.

Funny that I can read that Danish text relatively well, looks like Dutch (but very distant)
Who knows what might still be lurking out there.

I found another article, which mentions the missing crew.

Good to see another missing aircraft has been found.
Does anyone know if there is any evidence in the wreck of the missing crewmembers?
