Hello again to all’
I recently aquired a charcoal drawing of a Lockheed ventura patrol bomber dropping a torpedo at a Japanese destroyer. It is dated 1942 and signed
B.L.Shannon.It looks to me to be the original for some sort of Lockheed factory ad or similar.I have spent numerous hours searching the internet for any info on this artist and/or related ad.I have had zero luck so far.So my question is,Does anybody have any info on Mr.B.L.Shannon?Does anyone have any idea what this was possibly used for?(could also just be art to hang on the wall)anyone have any ideas where I might search for this info? Thanks for any help that may be provided. Tim

Hi
a good source of research always is e(vil)bay – here’s a current listing – it doesn’t include your painting, but gives you a feeling of Lockheed ads in general.
