Info req on Hurricane rep.

hi,
saw in the grounds of the Southampton ATC next to the Solent sky air museum, a Black Hurricane rep?, wheels down, wing stubs looked complete body wise, Coded A-LK, did,nt look too bad from a distance, anyone know any details?

Hi JACK. The codes indicate that its in the markings of 87 sqdn. A-LK was the personal aircraft of Ian Gleed [serial P2798]. Some time after the battle of Britain 87 sqdn went into the night intruder or night fighter role, I cannot remember which! Cheers, Frank.
