Hey i am wondering if anybody could help me, i am doing a foundation degree in farnborough on aerospace, and i am doing a course work on the 1985 crash at Manchester Airport, on a Boeing 737, with a British Airtours. I am wondering wear would be a good place to find information about the investigation. If any one could help me it would be much appriated.

The families and friends of the 55 who died probably wouldn’t appreciate the semantics of that statement.
I’m not saying it wasn’t tragic. No disrespect was meant
Maybe I should be clearer in my intent here.
A “crash” implies some sort of body hitting another. That didn’t happen. It was an engine fire which turned into the tragic event we all know.
I’ve read all about this incident, a lot of lessons were learned that day. Just a shame so many had to die to teach us.

Might be worth trying to gleen information from the AAIB. Its a bit before the time of the internet so there might not be a report there, but worth having a look around
