Information Needed Piper L-4H Grasshopper.

Hi all

Two things,

First I need pictures and / or information on the instrument panel fit of the WWII Piper L-4H Grasshopper’s in service in the UK in 1944 / 45.
Second, information about the work the Grasshopper’s did with the 12th T.R.S.

Many thanks,
Ritch.

Probably the best image I can find on my computer of a late L4H panel, hope this helps.

The L4H had a spring portion of panel for the main flying instruments whilst the oil px/tx stayed permanently fixed. I have seen a few images where a second remote reading compass was fitted for better nav, but I am not sure how standard that was. Obviously there were only two radio fits and I do have the remains of one of these still

Thanks FB

We are looking for a typical wartime fit if possible, but if not, as early as we can find.

Best wishes,
Ritch

Hi Ritch,

There are many different fits, I have a vast number of pics on the work computer from when I rebuilt the L4H I had. I’ll send you the two most common fits tomorrow if that helps.
