Information on deregistered US light aircraft

Dear all,
Due to on-going work on a small web-site for my local flying club, I was wondering if there is anywhere a one-stop web-site with information on deregistered US light aircraft where I can see details of previous ownership/location.

To give you an idea of the problem I´m having, let´s look at Cessna C-140 c/n 10553 and registered as TF-MRS in Iceland in 1986. It´s previous identity, is said to be N-67156. If that reg is put into google it is now a Hiller and in 1975, 11 years before the Cessna was imported to Iceland, that Hiller has an NTSB report. While I accept that it is possible that the Cessna had already been deregistered a long time before it came to Iceland (and it´s reg given to another aircraft), is there anyway to check where, when etc. for the Cessna?
