Hello everyone. I am working on a story on TBM-3E 91726, which rolled off the Eastern Aircraft production line on 8/31/1945. It is believed to have gone to British, which seems likely since the USN history doesn’t seem to start until 1950.
Can anyone fill in this gap?
Is there a database that cross references USN BuNo and RN serials?

Thanks Barrie and Dave. 91726 is now with John Moseley in Mississippi. I”ll take a look at Air Britain and contact Evergreen and see what they have on her early history.

Baugher had 91726 with Evergreen, McMinnville, OR as N5260V on display at Air Venture Museum. Then with Mid America. Now with Mike Rawson. No RN serial listed. 91723 was RN XB384.

A lot of the ones in that range went to the RN, but not until 1953. The RN didn’t operate many wartime Avengers post VE – the last BuAer no I have for a wartime delivery is 91508. There was a further allocation of UK serials, but they were cancelled on VJ day.
Air Britain’s Fleet air Arm aircraft may have more.
