Infrared, anybody use it?

Always had crappy cameras, as far back as I can remember, thought I would drag myself into the 21st century with a more modern digital fangled thing.

A couple of days ago I had a play with infrared pictures.
I’ve always liked this type of photography but never been able to achieve it, is it old hat stuff and shouldn’t play with it?

I spent an afternoon learning the basics and here are some of the results, any experts out there?
