Irregularity? The PR.XIX is incorrectly trestled.
?????
You make do with what you have! So what’s the problem??
At the time of the picture the tail jack & strut were out as were 50% of the wing bolts! accessory gearbox, R/H aileron & the injector diaphram! so there was a fair bit going on, plus cam & finger replacement on Miss Helen. PR.XIX was test flown on Saturday morning, then a splash of petrol & up to East Midlands with the P51 for the big Rolls Royce Bash. Not enough hours in the day! so I’m sorry if we had the tressles in the wrong position, we’ll try harder next time for you all. 😉
Cheers……….. 🙂

Does the Griffon engine always rotate in the opposite direction to the Merlin?

Cor, I think WUK would have something to say about that. What do you not like about their trestling (which I suspect is still in progress)?

OK, I think its that the exhaust stubs on one side of the Mk8 point up and on the other side point down.
There was a batch of these around 10 years ago or so!
Any good?

I’m pretty sure there were at least a few XIX’s operating over Normandy and carrying invasion stripes.
I can find a good pic of a Spit XIX with full D-Day stripes if someone doesn’t do it first!

I just checked – it had invasion stripes last year too, so it can’t be that….

Nice photos. Think I’ve spotted the irregularity. Miss Helen still has a Breitling Fighters logo?
