Hi, I can 100% rule out Dove or Devon as I used own one and got to know them pretty well (VP967)
Can’t comment on the other types, wish you luck finding out what it is from, nothing worse than not knowing.

No, Theres no test or intension to try and beat the forum, I really would like to know what it came off ? I dont have a clue ! Apart from the clues I have given i.e serial numbers labels etc that is all I have to go on. It came with another panel and the person wasn’t sure either about this one. So the jury is still out. Maybe I will have to send a picture to the RAF Museum if we cant solve it.
Thanks.

Looks like you beat the forum Andy, was it a test? Maybe the clue to what it is off is where did you get it from?

Has this one beaten the forum?
I have found another part No under the paint starting with 49 so is the prefix 49?
493859 also there is the stenciled number in white as stated in the first post starting 498 could this be Viking /Valetta???

A bit more info, may help?
Inspectors stamp on a part attached to the panel in oval stamp. B. 16
Also part no 5 or 603857X1 could start with another digit as it is covered buy a bracket at the start of the serial No. The anti icer switch is a Mk III.
Thanks.

Hi,
I’ve seen many wartime panels over the years but the only time I’ve ever seen those large Rotary Switches are on the Short Stirling bomber. Is this panel part of the main instrument panel? or perhaps a seperate internal panel from the Stirling? Whatever it is my guess is something from the early part of WW2.
Definitely not Stirling I’m afraid

UV lighting suggests mid at the earliest or late war onwards. Most likely post war however

I keep wondering about this one. The throttle deicing switch suggests piston and only one of them suggests only one engine?? Also the rheostats look 50s and the use of UV lighting suggests late war or 50s to me.

Just bumping this one! No I.D. yet?
Some extra info. Number written on back : ASSY No 498739X4
Some of the labels Inc Taxi Lamp P+S Landing Lamp P+S Compass Light Blind Flying Panel Lights UV Lights Pressure Head no 1 & 2
Also the two Large Rotary Switches Airscrew anti icer control & windscreen wiper control
So with the word ‘Airscrew’ should I think not jet now????

Yes, I thought one of those type of side panels of something bigger but not sure what. The labels are not metal but that sort of plastic with silver writing??
Any more ideas anyone?

the shape reminds me of the panel to the right of the pilot in a Canberra,
