Can anyone help me with an approximate value for some medals?
They will eventually be in the RAF Museum Hendon but until then I need to make sure my home insurance is adequate!
Group 1: Sgt Peter Waghorn
1939-45 Star with Battle of Britain clasp, Africa Star, War Medal, Malta GC comm medal.
Group 2: Sgt Bryan Waghorn
1939-45 Star, Aircrew Europe Star, War Medal.
All are originals in box and there are photographs of the brothers to go with each.
I have been told they are particularly ‘valuable’ (to collectors I presume) as they are for two brothers one of whom was one of ‘The Few’. Any help greatly appreciated.
The collection when handed over will include copies (yet to be purchased) of WWI medals for Lt Harry Waghorn RFC/RAF and also photos of the third generation in RAF service (myself) along with the link/story regarding Bf109 Black 6.

Just a quick update – RAFM Hendon don’t want them so they will hopefully be acceptable for display in another museum. Still got a bit of research to do to tidy things up.
Having seen the post about the BoB clasp I’m guessing, quite wildly, that the collection might be worth as much as £5000 for insurance purposes.
