Intercom plug

Hi all,

Recently acquired a second pattern C type flying helmet whose original owner had apparently seen wartime service on Lancasters. The intercom plug the helmet is fitted with however is not the commonly seen “bell” type but a black cylindrical one, photo attached, can’t make out an RAF stores ref on it. I checked with the RAF museum but although they have encountered similar plugs before they couldn’t tell me any more, only that it might be a post war replacement.

Any suggestions please?

TIA,

Walter

Looks like an old GPO Jack Plug Type 404 to me.

as used on telephonist’s headsets, ops plotters headsets, I would suggest it is also used on Link Trainers….no 22C number or anything on them
