More spitfire “stuff” I am sorry
Two pilots – opposite sides, the German one, Werner Leist was flying ME109’s at age 14, the other pilot is Murray Adams 30 SQN RAF 1940 – 1945 (from memory, can’t read signature).
Werner said that at one point he and a number of other pilots were transferred to an airfield that had a lot of ME262’s parked under cover, he realised that they were to fly these aeroplanes. They never did because there was not enough fuel for them. He claimed that at war’s end there wasn’t a shortage of pilots (as often stated) but a chronic shortage of fuel.
Does anyone know about these people.
