This B 17E is in Black cat pass PNG more pics can be seen in Charles Darbys book Pacific Aircraft Wrecks , which is a fasinating read in its self.

The whole history of 41-9234/FL461 can be found in MMP’s Boeing B-17 Fortress in RAF Coastal Command Service by Robert M Stitt ISBN 9-788389 450883. Appendix K but it is really a complete chapter.
