Well if you are looking for something a bit more substantial without a “forum members” health warning attached, on eBay France a slightly bent bf 109 propeller blade is being offered by a seller in Normandy. The opening price is 200 €, there are no bids at present and there are 2 days 9 hours to go. I can’t do a hyperlink but the item number is 140166806943.

Winning bid of £12.58, hope it is a forum member who will divulge the provenance of the item, unless he had to sign the Official Secret Act!

Well, several centuries ago I asked the seller if there are any markings on the panel, he has just replied with 5 minutes to go saying no, there aren’t!
It’s been bid up to 12 quid now, expensive bit of patching for that hole in the garage roof methinks…:D 😀

There is a reason they call it EvilBay!!! Recently saw an oil pressure gauge from ” a Spitfire, P-51, a B-17 or a B-52″ Hmmmm, didn’t know they all shared so much in common!!!! Especially jumping to the jet age with the 52!

Does this mean someone is going to have stump up a quid to uncover this, undoubtedly, fascinating history?
And no, I’m not!
Wonder why the ‘warning’ has gone though?
Chris

Hi
for seller history when it has expired I use the following
take the item number type it in ebay search box and it produces the previously sold item .i.e. item 320113725582
‘ Messerschmitt 109G Canopy Relic WW2 Luftwaffe
This canopy centre section originates from a 109G but it was retro fitted to the Me-109 below.
Messerschmitt Bf-109 F-4, WNr.5402, II./JG 5 Made forced Landing at Hamna Syltefjord on 17 Nov 1943, aircraft had to make a forced landing on the ice at Hamna bay, due to bad weather and darkness. The pilot was unhurt, while the Messerschmitt was reported 20% damaged.
unfortunately I don’t know the name of the pilot but no doubt through research will uncover his identity
Canopy has been carefully bead blasted and primed. ‘cheers
