Interesting Lancaster Bomber Crash Investigation

I came across this video link while doing some research. The condition of the engine and wingtip with original paint is amazing!!

With this being older news than, does anyone know what else was recovered apart from two engines and a wingtip?

Err… where did it say that in the clip??? If you watched the whole clip it was put down to spatial disorientation…. and the fact two of the engines were feathered…

The female presenter said that amont other things.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Moss of the AAIB a number of years ago. Unfortunately, it was in his professional capacity. His considerate ‘bedside manner’ was greatly appreciated at the time.

As mentioned above, the general condition of the recovered items was eye-opening. Hopefully, the application of preservation fluids will prevent the dreaded corrosion bug from winning.

They wont fare well if left outside like they were in that film, surface rust already covering the prop boss !
