Following on from the B29 pictures on Airliners.net,I’ve come across a couple of pictures taken during WW.1.One shows a captured DH.2 and the other a smashed up ‘Albatross’.The DH.2 pic is labelled as an ‘FE.2’ and I’ve contaced the guy who posted the pic to correct him on the type and the date/location,but I don’t know how you’d go about identifying the particular machine and/or pilot.Could the number 4 on the cockpit pod stand for 4 sqn?
I’m certain the machine in the second pic is NOT an Albatross as it has the wrong fin/rudder profile and compression struts above the tailplanes.Any idea what type it might be??
