I found this amongst a bunch of prints tonight. One of those lovely crinkly edged originals.
A one engined Ju52 floatplane. Can that be?
It is late WWII or after. It came with a batch clearly taken by British forces – upturned Tirpitz etc.
Not my field but who can tell us what it is?

Single-engined Ju 52
In the Western Canada Aviation Museum, Winnipeg, is this display replica Ju 52/m painted as CF-ARM. It was based on a Spansish-built Ju 52/3m. Poor photo, but it’s a crowded museum as you can see!

Yep, Junkers W34 “Bolo”.
Were also used as target tugs for flak gunnery practise.
Dunnu why it is called Bolo.

It is possibly a Junkers W34hi as this model was the principal Luftwaffe model fitted with a 492kW (660-hp) B.M.W.132 radial.
Or Junkers 34hau with a 485kW (650 hp) Bramo 322 engine.
A 3 seater version (bomber/recon) version was developed by the Swedish factory under designation K43, examples exported to Colombia and Finland.
The W33 was the one with inline engine.

It’s a Junkers – W34 from memory, not 52.
The Luftwaffe used wquite a few of the earlier civil Junkers, and they were popular in Canada as they could swap gear – wheels, floats or skis.

Yes, it can be a single engine Junkers floatplane…don’t know what model, but many were used in Canada as bush planes…but all I’ve seen had in-line engines. In fact, it could be an impressed civil plane and not a captured Luftwaffe ship.
As you know, the Ju-52 started out with one engine…that’s why the designation for the Auntie Anne we all know is the Ju-52/3M.
