I’d be grateful for advice as to crew positions in the Blenheim, Hudson and Hampden (preferably a cutaway plan), or could anyone help with photos of the interiors of the aircraft facing rearwards from the pilot. I’ve seen a photo that allegedly shows the interior of a Met Flight aircraft circa 1941-42, but it doesn’t look right for the types used at the time.
I appreciate it would be easiest to copy the image here for your thoughts, but I regret that’s not possible at present.

Thank you, Denys; your photos remove any shadow of doubt, not that there was a great deal anyway. The construction is clearly vastly different. I’ve advised the archive from which ‘my’ photo came that it needs to rethink its caption.

Apologies, I don’t know why I didn’t think of Flight in the first place
No apologies necessary, I’m sure. Glad you got your answer 🙂

Thanks for the prompt replies, gentlemen. The geodesic appearance made me wonder, so thanks for the confirmation. From your advice I managed to find a an interior image online at http://www.626-squadron.co.uk/img80.gif.

Hi Lyffe
It’s a Wellington, or possibly a Warwick

Very much the inside of a Wellington.

Apologies, I don’t know why I didn’t think of Flight in the first place – many thanks Mothminor. Unfortunately I don’t think it is either of these. I’ve now managed to extract a reasonable copy of the image to which I referred, and would appreciate the experts’ views.

There’s a cutaway plan of the Hampden on Flight Archive – pages 444 and 445 here –

Also found one of the Blenheim, though less detailed and only the Mk.1 on pages 622 and 623 here –
