Britney gum up for sale on eBay
A piece of chewing gum spat out by pop star Britney Spears is back up for sale on eBay after it was initially removed for claiming it contained her DNA.
The seller on the popular auction website, who retrieved the gum outside London’s Sanderson hotel, at first used Spears’ DNA as the main selling point.
But the advert was removed because it contravened eBay’s Human Body Parts and Remains policy.
The advert is now back up with no DNA reference – bids have reached £790.
The description now reads: “I am now allowed to list this item with a few alterations to my wording… it was put into an airtight container and has not been touched since it was inside Britney’s mouth.
“It is completely preserved as you can see, with Britney’s teeth marks highly visible! This is the chance to own a piece of pop history – right from the mouth of the princess of pop herself!”
There is no guarantee that the gum is authentic, but potential buyers can contact the seller direct and then use their own judgement to decide.

Users can also write in with feedback about the seller, which can help interested buyers to decide whether the information is likely to be reliable.
The auction ends on 5 September.
In July, a Boston hotel began inviting guests to stay in a replica of pop star Britney Spears’ bedroom.
The singer’s mother Lynne Spears designed the Onyx Hotel room, which costs up to $349 (£188) per night.
It includes Britney Spears CDs and a DVD of her 2002 movie Crossroads. The room’s minibar is stocked with the 22-year-old’s favourite snacks.
The singer’s latest tour, which was cut short in June when she injured her knee, was named after the hotel.

I have perfected my DNA spit cloning machine now. It’s made from a microwave, half a vibrator (Rampant Rabbit) a Kenwood Chef and 3 Heinz Tomato Soup tins. I’ll be flogging Britney Spearmints on Ebay within a week.
