internet flight tracking

hi folks,

am wondering in this modern day is there anywhere on the internet were u can view ATC radar style live movements?

i know the software is commercially available (the RAF almost bought something similar about 10 years ago for their transport fleet), but am guessing in this age of international terrorism there is nothing free on the net, anyone got any pointers?

cheers

That new BAA tool is pretty cool. I have just watched last week’s movements over my hometown, Wokingham.

It is indeed 😀 Fascinating to see what the heavies I hear at night overhead are!

BAA have recently created this facility for Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted airports, though like the others it operates with a 24-48 hour delay:

LGW/Gatwick

LHR/Heathrow

STN/Stansted

www.fboweb.com

Thats a really good one for tracking planes that go into American airspace—use the industrial strength tracking link if you have problems the first time.
I tracked my friend form just outside lhr to JFK a couple of weeks ago!
Have fun guys!!!

Try this site for some US airports – I think most of them have a slight time lag though:

http://www.passur.com/sites.htm

I believe you click on the aircraft to see the flight details, although not all data appears to be populated for all flights/airportd

I don’t think there’s many in Europe – I believe East Midlands was the first in the UK (although it is 24 hours delayed):

http://ema.webtrak-lochard.com/index2.html

On the EMA version you can hover the mouse over an aeroplane to see the flight details, or click on an aeroplane to get the registration, etc.
