Whatever happened to the proposal a few years ago about getting pc’s to run everything through the mains electricity, even connecting to and using the internet and the fact that every item in the world connected to Mains could have its own unique IP Address so could be controlled by a pc as though its on a network ?
Over to you guys

Wow, finally someone did it? That is good, really… I know this had been envisaged here, too, but the place was then taken by cable tv operators (you can have TV cable everywhere in Belgium, unlike many countries)

Sorry to say this frank but in the UK the project is very much alive and kicking and working well. Scottish Power is currently doing tests, they have run a test in sctoland for a few months now with a lot of success and are looking to trial it in other aeras.
The only costly part of it is connecting the power network to the internet backbone, but this should be esaily overcome by having a box at an ISP so you supply power to them and get a net connection back.
I am looking forward to having this, as it offers speeds far in excess of what we have in the UK now, and allow communities on the net to florish much more easily.

Easy: the electric counter has a coil. this coin stops every attempt to transfer data. And yet, i don’t think they found an economically viable solution.
