Another plea for help please chaps. My book of Second World War veterans’ stories is targetted for publication early next year. Among the 100+ interviews I have conducetd, I have covered every nationality of the major combatants except the Japanese.
All attempts to track down survivors and/or existing transcripts have failed; usually with a dead-end or unanswered emails. Is there anyone out there who might be able to put me in touch with a potential source please? I know there are a few transcripts on the Internet, but it has not been possible to trace or make contact with the copyright holders.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Elliott,
Many thanks for the tip, I’ll give it a try. By the way, I do not have a Whitley man either!
Regards
Steve

Hi Steve
First of all, well done – I wish I had the time to do something similar. An American called Ron Werneth spent some time in Japan in the last ten years and interviewed many IJN veterens – he may still be living out there. I do know he used to write for some of the magazines. I think he might be able to help you.
You could post over in WIX – perhaps they or one of our Americans friends has a contact for him.

Just curious as to which Norwegian you interviewed. If it’s a secret for now then I’ll wait for the book to come out!
