intresting news from BEG

Thought i might share with you all some intresting developments from BEG.

New routes:
* JAT:1 new flight to Monastir begins from March 25, 2007. The flight is flown on Thursdays as JU466/467 with the B733. From June through to September 2007, Jat Airways will have 5 flights p/w to Monastir.

* JAT will re-commence flights to Ohrid once again as of May 14. The flight is flown Belgrade-Skopje-Ohrid-Belgrade on Mondays and Thursdays with the ATR 72.

* Norweigan Air Shuttle will become the second low cost airline to BEG with theire commencement of flights from OSL on April 28. They will every saturday with the B733

* Skyservice returns to BEG flying every Tuesdays with the B757. They fly from YYZ via DUB as of June 19.

* Germanwings will fly from STR to BEG 3 p/w from 24 May 2007.

Frequency upgrade:
* JAT: 5 new flights to CDG will be introduced. As JU240/241, Jat Airways will fly 4 p/w BEG-CDG-BEG as of March 25 (increasing to daily from 22 June until 3 September 2007), and as JU242/243 3 p/w BEG-CDG-BEG as of March 25 (increasing to 5 p/w from 22 June 2007 until 3 September 2007) bringing the total to 12 flights per week. The flights will be flown with the B733

* JAT: 2 returning flights per week will be given to flight JU88/89, DXB via BEY. The first incresed flight will start flying from 25 March, while the second will commence from 16 May 2007, giving the total of 5 p/w. All the flights on the route BEG-BEY-DXB-BEY-BEG will be flown with the B733

* JAT: 2 new flights to AMS open, flying the route BEG-AMS-BEG (JU262/263) on Tuesdays and Sundays. This brings a total to 3 flights flying BEG-AMS-BEG, with the other flying on a Saturday. All flights are flown with the B733

* JAT: 2 new flights to STR (JU346/347), flying on Fridays and Sundays with ATR 72’s, bringing the total to 5 p/w (others on Tues, Thurs, Sat)

* LH will introduce 2 new flights from DUS to BEG flying the CRJ, from 5 p/w to daily (additions being on saturdays and sundays)

* JAT: 1 new flight to LJU, flying BEG-LJU-BEG (JU102/103) with ATR 72 on Sundays, bringing the total of flights between BEG and LJU to 6 p/w (ex Saturdays)

* JAT: 1 new flight to Athens, flying BEG-ATH-BEG (JU438/439) with B733 on Thursdays, bringing a total to 4 p/w (others on Mon, Wed, Fri)

* JAT: 1 new flight on the BEG-MLA-TIP-BEG (JU454/455), flying on Thursdays with B733, bringing the total to 2 p/w (other on Mondays)

* JAT: 1 new flight to MUC (JU342/343), flying on Tuesdays with ATR 72’s, bringing the total to 5 p/w (others on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun)

* JAT: 1 new flight will be introduced to TLV via LCA (JU072/073). The flight is flown on Saturdays, bringing the total to 3 flights per week on the BEG-LCA-TLV-LCA-BEG route (others on Mondays and Thursdays as JU070/071). Flights begin from 23 June untill 8 September 2007. All flights are flown with the B733

* JAT: 1 new flight to LHR (JU208/209) begins from 19 May untill 15 September 2007. The flight is flown on Saturdays on route BEG-LHR-BEG, bringing the total to 8 flights per week (others are flown daily as JU210/211). All flights are flown with the B733

* Germanwings will add 1 flight p/w from CGN. They will now fly 4 p/w with the A319.

Frequency decrease:
* AF will decrease their daily flights from CDG to 5 p/w.

Schedule Change:
* VV have changed their flights KBP-SOF-BEG-KBP from mondays to wednesdays. Flights are flown once a week with B735

Destinations terminating:
* Jat Airways removed all flights from BEG to VIE and STR routed via INI as of March 24. Jat Airways will continue to fly from BEG to ZRH via INI twice a week with Boeing B733

* Jat Airways ended its flights to HAM (JU340/341) from March 24, 2007. The flight was flown 3 p/w with the B733. The flight connected with EK ac to and from JFK.

Good to see JAT rebuilding. Had many flights with them in the 80s and early 90s usually routing LHR to either BEG ZAG LJU or TIA on 727-200 DC9 737-300and one trip on the ATR into TIA, we also used to work the B707s sometimes through STN usually heading to the US with livestock I think (it was a long time ago!) Not too keen on the current livery though:)

I wonder if JAT will ever return to Australia…i remember those DC10 flights into Melbourne like they were yesterday
