This is my first posting on here, although I have been ‘lurking’ for a long while, reading posts with interest.
My own interest is in preserving and restoring ex-military radio and electronics equipment, in particular British and US aircraft equipment from the forties and fifties.
Has anybody got any information on a rotary Inverter Type 200, Stores Reference 5UB/8637, please? This is powered by 25/28v dc, and supplies 115v at 1600Hz single phase, rated at 360VA continuously. Alongside the rotary machine is a control unit using a carbon-pile regulator.
It looks to be cold-war era.
Which aircraft was it fitted to, and which systems did it power?
Has anyone got any documentation, showing connection details, circuit diagram or maintenance information, by any chance?
Many thanks,
Andy

Inverter Type 200
Just an update to my quest for information about the Inverter Type 200.
I now know that it was fitted to the Hawker Hunter to supply the Radar Ranging installation, ARI 5820.
And that the inverter is covered by AP4343B, Vol.1, Sec. 16, Chap. 8.
Does anybody by any chance have a copy of this document?
Many thanks,
Andy

Fieldhawk,
Pictures attached – clearly marked as Type 200, which I assume is the complete unit comprising rotary machine and control box.
I also have another rotary machine, no control box but appears identical except for having a connector on the side (I assume for connection to a seperately mounted control box), the same6input and output voltages, marked as Inverter Type 206, which I assume refers to the rotary machine only.

AndyY…………… Are you sure that the type is ‘200’ and not ‘201’?
