Irag Furies?

i read in flypast that the British forces in Irag are going to bring back 2 furies with them? is this true. lol it will be great if this furies be bought back to the uk and be restored to airworthy standard. There is a single and a double seat fury? is a double seat fury more rare than a t.20 seafury? who would get them? if the marines nick them would the RNHF get them? any ideas?

Dodgy, very dodgy!

Evening.

Well, since troops have been grabbed bringing in ‘looted’ helmets, flags, Saddam posters, bath taps, toilet seats, biros, headed writing paper, etc I doubt this will happen.
And since there have already been more than enough museums raided/looted in Iraq…

About rarity, if I recall correctly, some 60 T.20’s were built comparing to 7 T.61’s. Five of the T.61’s were bought by Pakistan and the other 2 by Iraq.
The main difference is the separate canopies on the T.61’s. Rare or not, if I had the chance to buy one (dreaming again) I would convert it a.s.a.p. because it´s so ugly ……

Well it must be true then if its in flypast, dont be suprised if they are scrapped,us brits have a good track record for saving historic a/c.

The only way they will survive is if the americans get involved, and realise their worth, rather ironic really lasted all these years but now in danger from the country that produced them,i hope i am wrong we will see.
