When Iran nationalised the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company in June 1951 BOAC evacuated 900 civilians from Teheran. Does anyone know the aircraft involved, please? I recall that BOAC were flying Stratocruisers, Hermes and Argonauts at the time (and possibly Constellations) and imagine that all types could have been used in the circumstances. Any information or leads would be much appreciated. Thanks

The only lead I have run into is at a film footage house. They supposedly show the Iranian takeover of the oil facilities, and British citizens getting on BOAC and TWA aircraft.Looks like one has to BUY the footage to see it. Footagefarm also has a UK branch
