Iranian Phoenix use

In another thread we were discussing the use of Phoenix against fighters. So far the only documented use of Phoenix was against Iragi MiG-25s and they missed (but so did AMRAAMs and Sparrow fired by F-15S).
Tom mentioned that we totally forgot about Iran. Tom, by this comment you imply to know more about Iran’s Phoenix use. Could you tell us more then??!!??!!
I haven’t heard of Iranian Phoenix use during the Gulf War. I’ve heard reports that US technicians sabotaged the AWG9 and/or Phoenix in such a way that they couldn’t be fired anymore, before they had to fled the country. The only stories I’ve heard about Iran’s F-14 kills were about Sidewinder and Sparrow use. I’ve read 12-14 Tomcats were shot down for 10 Iragi fighters downed. That isn’t very good for such an excellent plane (if it’s true).
Like I said, Tom, you imply to know more about Iran’s Phoenix use during the War, please tell us more.
