Iraq air force Jet Provosts

Afternoon again,

This link goes to a pic of a wrecked Iraqi JP. I wasn’t aware they received any. Can any one supply any other details?

Hello All

After retiring most aircraft, the Iraqis seem to have just pushed them out to a far corner of the airfield.

Unfortunately that corner has often been mistaken as operational by some trigger happy WSO types :dev2: :dev2: :dev2:

Well, the serial on the tail looks like ‘610’ and ‘Scramble’ have that as a JP T.52 – going by the photo it’s definitely a JP rather than a Strikemaster.

Interesting pic, tho’…let’s hope that there’s lots more stuff out there, looks like they never chucked anything away!

Isn’t the BAC 167 Mk.88 as noted there actually the Strikemaster? Or was the JP the same mark?

Ssssshhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s supposed to be a secret!

Iraq got 20 T.4’s in the 60’s, back when we had an Aerospace industry!
