I think it would be a good idea for a few of us to contribute allied attrition info to this thread on a day-by-day basis to make sure we get all our facts straight. Please include dates, location and squadrons.
I don’t know the facts, but I think the USMC have lost a CH-47 and crashed an AH-64. The RN lost 2 Sea Kings. Info would be appreciated.
Just to raise a worrying issue – allied rate of aircraft attrition stands at about 1.3 aircraft per day. Is this just a freak of nature (even in a “hot”, harsh desert environment with lots of military traffic) or can we only look forward to losing 60 aircraft in a 40-day conflict. Thats expensive in lives and money.
