I can see irony in this, the only commercial movement,as far as I know, was this aircraft being towed from spray shop 2, all other movements are grounded by Icelandic dust !!!!
Are there any differences with the paint job, to me it looks as before, but I am no expert ?????

Yeah I noticed that about Qantas too.
I wish BA would do it again aswell.

Nice. Is Icelandair putting names on their planes now?
Noticed Qantas has started the practice again since the arrival of the A380’s

RichardC. Yup it’s so nice to, just once, be in the right place at the right time ! Thank you.
Galdri (via Newforest). Thank you for your explanation of the names, from ladies to volcanos, doesn’t living in the 21st century just keep on getting so much more exciting ? Hasn’t ‘old mother nature’ just told us that she is still in charge ? Despite “Global Warming” etc

Thanks to all for your input, As for naming aircraft, I have looked at images of this one on A.net and it has been named ‘Valdis’ in the past but now seems to be ‘Krafla’ ???
Keith.
In the past aircraft of Icelandair had women´s name on them, but last year they all got a new “name”. Ironically, given the current situation, the new names are all names of famous Icelandic VULCANOS 😮
Krafla is a vulcano that erupted in the north of the country frequently in the late 70’s early 80´s
The colour scheme on that 757 is a standard Icelandair scheme.

Well if what I read on the news last night was anything to go by the only country in Northern Europe that kept their airports open was Germany. According to tonight’s news some of the Scottish airports are again so I guess the ash cloud is dipersing which would mean that Iceland should have been clear by late afternoon given the wind direction.

Apparently there are two Icelandair’s heading to GLA, but Glasgow are having some movements. Not sure how there getting to fly down though?
