Is it a WW2 prop? Any ideas

Had lunch in “The Priory” public house at Portbury just off the M5 near Bristol to-day and discovered a wooden prop blade fixed to the wall behind where I was sitting. The staff knew nothing about it other than coming, allegedly, from a WW2 aircraft that crashed in/near Portbury and being found when a new house was being built a few years ago.

Does anyone on the Forum recognise it and suggest what aircraft type it might have come from?

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately there were no markings on the blade or base that I could detect unless they were covered by the bracket securing it to the wall

There should be some numbers on the base – if you can post them someone on the forum may be able to Id it for you.

A wood prop coming from a crashed aircraft would very likely be broken.

Unles the cause of the crash was engine failure and the prop wasn’t rotating

It’s a ROTOL blade and they were part of Bristol Aircraft (ROlls brisTOL) so it may have been made in the area.
