Is low-fat diet extremism and technology lowering the IQ of our children?

IMAO

I have been noticing some trends. Our children seem to be getting fatter. So there has been some movements to lower the fat that our children eat. It seems to be some of the shallow minded people think if we just cut the fat that our kids will be healthier.

Let’s take an honest look at why our kids are getting fatter. The more TV, computers and other forms of media entertainment become popular, the less activity our children are doing. As a result our children are getting fatter, and weaker. In the old days children were encouraged to do chores or to go out and do physical play to entertain themselves.

Now days many kids feel they have to be entertained. Some of them don’t even know how to entertain themselves or how to be physically productive. Since they feel they have to be entertained, they lose some of the creative abilities because they are not using the same thought processes. So the kids have more advantages by having more knowledge readily available and easier to process using technology, however many of them don’t have the same depth of ability to think and invent for themselves.

Our kids are getting fatter because they are not working or physically playing as much. Instead of doing things the natural way of encouraging kids to do chores and physically play, we encourage them to change their diet by eating less fat.

I agree there are some cases where fat people should go on a low-fat low-calorie diet, however I think it is wrong that as a blanket treatment that our school systems be encouraged to serve low-fat meals. There has even been some attempts to promote vegetarian and no fat diets.

Part of the reason that man evolved and became so intelligent is thought to be because we started to eat high-fat diets. Our brain is largely fat, having a high-fat diet, particularly in children is important in mental/brain development. When we became hunters our fat intake increased and we became smarter.

I have noticed some of these wacko mothers that look like AIDS patients or heroine addicts often have kids with the same physical and mental characteristics. Some of these mothers and children seem unusually dimwitted. They often seem very skinny, weak, sickly and have recessed eye sockets (like their brain has receded and their eyes have followed).

So my theory is our kids are smarter in some ways because they have the advantages of technology. However many of the kids suffer because they overindulge in the technology and use it mainly as entertainment not for the betterment of knowledge. Since many of the kids spend virtually all their time inactive it makes them fatter. The dependency on technology, sometimes can make them less capable of thinking for themselves. I suspect some of the low-fat diets that is being forced on our kids may be harmful for their brain and intellectual development.

As we get older our metabolism changes and since our brains are not physically growing the need for fat is less. So I feel it may be best for most children to have a higher fat diet than adults as long as there is enough physical play or work to prevent the child from getting obese.

I feel that everyone has a different metabolism and a different lifestyle, so it may not be appropriate to try to encourage everyone to have the same type of diet.

….yeah in the old days….everybody step back when a young mang walk by….they step BACK…..;)

Humans nor other animal are not physically mented for living in prosperious enviroment where there is food way beyond the cruisal limit of survival…when you are not forced to make hard physical labour for getting even the minimal ammount of nutritions result is what is evident today. Its quite obvious.

But then again western capitalistic culture cannot survive if you don’t spend your money on various irrelevant stuff (called consumer goods), like food three times a day, so what can you do:confused:
