Is the west missing out by not having a flanker size aircraft.

I don’t mean just a vanilla flanker but more the new models. Could the west really do with a su-34 size strike fighter/bomber or a su-35 multi role fighter. The range seems very impressive and cuts down the refuelling platforms required. The flanker series dont seem to miss out in performance. While there is a place for a cheap to operate gripen are other airforces missing something. I know Russia has unique circumstances such as a huge landmass to patrol.
