Recently I met a Soviet instructor who was singing the praises of the K-36 ejection seat and claimed it was the best in the world with hardly any fatal ejections.
Apart from the fact that ejection was possible at very high altitudes like 75000 feet and also that it was a zero-zero seat he claimed a number of advanced features compared to the renowned ones like Martin Baker – for example automatic strapping of the body and face protection against wind blasts etc .
Would be interested for any comments and comparisons.
