Just had a jet that resembled a Mig 15/17 fly over my house heading in the general direction of Duxford and South. Any ideas please what it was?

That ’17 was passed from one prospective operator to another over many years. I’m not convinced there was ever a serious attempt to getting it flying though.

OFMC operated a ’15UTI for a while. Somebody was trying to get a ’17 flying (from Bournemouth iirc) but had issues with certification

Feel free to come to the US, old MiGs are littering up several airfields. They probably pay you to take them away.
Guys bought them cheap and either didn’t like them, got tired of the fuel bills, or they went u/s and they don’t know any Russian or Chinese-reading mechanics.

Didn’t they have a Spanish HE 111?

They had a MIG 17 but not had it for years, the MIG 15 is booked for the September show at Duxford.
