What a shame.

Being older than you geezers, I’ll remember him for the album ‘To Be Continued’ in which he turned Bacharach & David’s saccharine tune The Look of Love into something really soulful and sexy. Goodnight & sleep well, Mr. Hayes.
By way of a tenuous link, can anyone remember the name of a BBC series of (I think) late 80s/early 90s in which a Brit travels to the USA to find the members of a long defunct vocal group – I seem to remember Isaac was one of the group, and several other well known soul men were in the series.

I remember him best from his guest appearance in an episode of The Rockford Files in which his character displayed his physical prowess by tearing the top off a beer can. Rockford (James Garner) then did the same thing, saying something like “Aluminum makes a hero out of everybody.”
