yesterday me and Concordesst were at NCL and we seen a islandflug 737 in there all blue livary, the reg that we wrote down was TF-ELJ but this ends up being a ATR. Does anybody know what the reg of this aircraft was and why does a.net not have a picture of islandflug in there blue livary(if it is there blue), any information would be great.
sorry about the quality of the pic, but i now know never to use digital zoom.

ialandflug recruits there british/scottish crew through an agency called direct personnel in dublin what you also have to remember that all of flyglobspan aircraft are from channel express and channel express operate for the globspan holiday group of which channel express wet lease from islandflug

islandflug is a wet lease company, and have meny diffront planes around the world and all the crew are theirs and they go with the aircraft to who it is ever leased to, this aircraft opperated for brittania out of malmo and also ops out of ema on the weekendsthey are also opp for ups pax service starting in belgum
When they leased to Globespan for my flight to TFS in February it was an Islandsflug flight crew but a Globespan cabin crew.

Galdri is I think the man who will know more than anyone else, that is if he still circulates round here?
He may well be flying it even as we speak. 😉

Well as with most airlines these days they probably don’t own the planes, leasing them from GECAS or ILFC probably, and quite likely at favourable rates too as the leasing company’s have a lot of these to get off their hands at the moment.

I know, I will – I promise. I just don’t really want to talk about it and get on with what I’m doing now.
That’s good, we won’t talk about it anymore then.

As far as I’m aware, Iceland do use registrations they have used before e.g. TF-FIA, TF-FIB, TF-ELJ. They could be the only country to do so.

Its a 737-400, ex Sobelair OO-SBJ, c/n 24573 if you are into that sort of thing.
Exactly. It was repainted in the TUI colors since Jetair, who chartered Sobelair is a member of the TUI group.
Maybe the ATR was written off and this came in it’s place?

There was a TF-ELJ an ATR, I am not sure where that is now though. You did read off it correctly though, TF-ELJ is now with islandsflug, they seem to be getting new 737s every day!
