Last month I went on a pilgrimage to the island of Islay to visit the Lagavulin distillery where the nicest single malt whisky is made 😀
Islay is a fairly small island but almost every road sign is a whisky name, the Lagavulin tour of course ended with a ‘wee’ dram in the lounge…biggest wee dram I have ever had,the correct answer to the question ‘any drivers ?’ was obviously no because it was 1030 am and we hadnt seen the polis at all 😀

That looks like fun!
Not a great fan of the really peaty malts. But then if we all liked the same things…

I dunno… when I was younger I liked the lighter highland stuff, but some years ago the company I then worked for sent me on a whisky appreciation course (of course they were unaware of that 😀 )
After trying many different drinks I came to the conclusion that the nicest readily available (very important weasel word that) was Lagavulin 16 year old.Smells almost identical to Laphroaig (just up the road :D) but tastes so different – smooth and long lasting.
Not a drink to gulp down but just a few sips once in a while 😉
cheers baz
