Has something happened there today?
I noticed that one flight to LBA was cancelled and the other 2 were very heavily delayed with Eastern. Also flights with other airlines going to Manchester and Liverpool were also very heavily delayed. Anyone know anything???

I was in Douglas and their was a sea mist which wasn’t really converging onto land, Ronaldsway is further SW but has an Eastern coast so as the winds were bringing the coninental air accross from the east this could be true! – i know the met man at the IOM now so i will enquire for you…

Tell me about it! We were fogged in over here in the Channel Islands on Wednesday when the UK was having its hottest temperatures. Though we seem to have made up for it now but costal fog was still visable today, in fact there was a huge band of it to the west I noticed.

The IOM really struggled with fog yesterday. We had some staff over there who couldn’t get home for the weekend. This kind of summer weather is great, but there is a lot of coastal fog around (very localised) which is awful if you get stuck in.

Thanks saab, I noticed that tonights Ryanair at LBA was cancelled from Dublin so that explains that as well.

I believe the IOM is down to fog and generally bad visibility. Dublin was the same though there was an incident with an Aer Lingus BAe 146 at the holding point for runway 10 at Dublin where it reported a hydraulic leak. Aircraft parked behind the 146 had to shut down and landing aircraft had to circle due to to runway inspections. Chaos….

There must have been something going on at Dublin aswell today. Every arrival from Dublin into LHR both BMI and Aer Lingus were all arriving about 2 hours late today. Can anybody help with the cause????
