Just returned from Istanbul and Antalya. Main reason for visit: aircraft photography.
At Istanbul Ataturk we stayed during the morning at a restaurant near the boulevard in the Florya area. In the afternoon we moved to the well known Flyinn shopping centre. Very relaxed places to take photos with food, drinks, shade and toilets near by. Even wifi for Flightradar24 in the Flyinn.
For Antalya you need a car to reach photo spots. There are many spots. Parallel runways in use and change during the day makes spotting a bit less relaxed than IST. Still very good and lots of different airlines.
For a comprehensive description of spotting at Istanbul Ataturk and Antalya see my new website

Later I will add photo proof!

Antalya is a special airport. Difficult but worth it. Good stuff Marcel on the movements list. On the Monday we were in Antalya there were no less than 20 Nordwind arrivals alone ! The session in morning from 7am to 11am was incredible. Just be careful of the watchtowers !

On scramble.nl I try to keep you all updated on the schedule for Antalya this summer. Season is getting started now. Four IL96’s of Aeroflot on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday Airlines B757 each day. Grozny Air seems to be doing regular charters with up to 4 Yak42 flights to AYT. Alitalia used a A330. Kharkiv Airlines service from various Ukrainian airports did not start yet. Seems Aviatrans K performs the flights till the Kharkiv aircraft are delivered. Fokker 100s of Caspiy and Bek Air a couple of times per week.

Good job Marcel! Istanbul definitely has two of the best “lazy spotting” locations in Europe.
