It appears that everything I thought I knew about the Spitfire was wrong!!

Apologies if this has been posted before, but it made me chuckle…particularly the information of the variants.

It said in the article that the prototype Spitfire was found under a rock in Shropshire. Perhaps there are more Spitfires under rocks in Shropshire. This needs further investigation!

Sounds like that was written by a chap who stood near me at an airshow once describing the Hurricane to his very young son!
