Italian Air Bases

Hey guys,

I might be taking a trip to Italy in May and I REALlY want to do some spotting. So my question is: Are there any air bases in the Rome vacinity and if so how close are they. Is it easy to get access to the flightline or do I need to write a letter to their public affairs office expressing my concerns. Thanks in advance.
