My Dad’s cousin Bob Homewood just posted this interesting photo on Facebook today, which comes from his father’s colelction, my Great Uncle Bob Homewood senior. The late Bob senior was in 21 Battalion in the 2 Division NZEF and he has taken this photo somewhere in North Africa. Does anyone know more about it, where it is, who it was dedicated to, is it still there, and is it a Fiat?
Cheers.

I would agree there but that doen’t look much like a radial engine. So is there really two aircraft there posed to give the impression of one going through the memorial? A CR42 tail and a CR32 nose?

Based on the tube frame construction and the tail unit shape, it’s probably remains of a Fiat CR42 biplane fighter pictured.
