Italian/Brazilian AMX – How good is it?

I would appreciate any comments on the Embraer/Alenia AMX light strike fighter. It seems to have had a relatively low profile over the years and not much is ever written about it. I was wondering if there are any of you in this forum who have first hand experience with the aircraft and if you could comment on it’s strengths, weaknesses, and outlook?

I also understand that Venezuela supposedly ordered a batch of these planes back in the 1990’s. Did anything ever come of that?

Also can anyone speak to the scope of the upgrade that the Italian Amx’s are going through?
