Italian WW2 Airforce white cross motif question

Im after some close up detail pictures of the motif that sits in the centre of the white cross on some of the italian aircraft during WW2.. I wish to paint the same motif upon my Vespa which is painted up in an MC-205 sqn colour scheme. Ive trawled the interweb and found nothing in close up.

Thanks again for any help you can give 😀

Wow thanks Steve. Thats real good to see. becouse as ive said there`s always variations on a theme, so to see an original artwork really does help. 😉

This is an image of a crest that was cut from the tail of an Italian C42 in the Western desert in 1941 by British soldiers. Whilst the colours may have faded a bit, still might help you with the design that was being used on their aircraft at the time

Glad to be of help Rob.

The scooter rally certainly livens the old home town up a bit, really good vibe on the streets etc. The normal fragrant IOW air replaced by eau du 2 Stroke, wafting on the breeze…gentle chinking of beer glasses can also be heard!

There are variations on a theme but they seem to be similar

Thats what i wanted Chumpy many thanks.. Ive seen that coat of arms a few times but in random places. Should be set off nicely on the front of my legshields, Might even do it on the tool box lid also 😀 ..

One day i will get doen to the IOW rally in Aug as a mate of mine who goes down on his SX200 keeps pestering me to go with him (John Cartwright). Trouble is ive been going to a local vintage show with my old Matchless for the last 20 years and dont want to let go, if you know what i mean??

Scan of a Macchi 205 decal sheet from a ‘Supermodel’ 1/72 kit, detail is a bit small but maybe useful for info / inspiration!

Look forward to seeing it if you make down to the Isle of Wight rally in August??

Right thats a step closer, Thank you soooooo far 😉 but it you tap House of Savoy into google there`s lots of Coats of Arms  . Which would be relevent doya reckon to a Macchi MC205 of that WW2 era??.

Cheers Again

I think it is the arms of the House of Savoy.

Yes and it was usually applied with a decal.
