Nice photos Mark12 – thanks for posting.
The two photos – same aircraft, same day, same camera – show an interesting contrast in colours.
Imagine trying to do a paint match of PRU Blue using those two photos – a trap for the unwary.

That is partially me adjusting the contrast with Paint Shop Pro.
It was interesting to see the tonal variation in the 10 or so shots I took as it taxied by and the light settings changed.

OTGA?
OTGA – the Ones That Got Away.
Strictly speaking Mk XIV RM874 the VTOL Spitfire Convertiplano, by Spitfire Survivors definition, is a main entry because it was scrapped post 1970, the break line for survivor inclusion.
The OTGA appendix in Volume II of the boo covers Spitfires and Seafires lost in the period 1955 to 1969, fifteen years when a surprising number were lost to the scrap man and smelter…all are covered in 50 pages of text and images.

Is there a reason why we don’t often see aircraft from his collection fly at Duxford airshows?
It seems I have only seen them fly at Clacton or the now non-existant Rougham Airshow.

The VTOL Spitfire was scrapped in Brazil in about 1970. All the others tend to taxi prior to flying.
