It's not Airliners.net but it's good enough.

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got my first picture accepted on Jetphoto’s and it’s a great feeling after all those photos I’ve uploaded and got rejected. :D:D

Anyways i would like to thank Paul (PMN) for giving me great tips on how to crop. 🙂

so do the guys at A-Net and as you say they tell you WHY a shot is rejected.

They don’t though really, they give a rejection reason the same as JP do. The forums on JP are very good for getting advice and the attitude is generally much more friendly a lot of the time than A.Net. Questions there tend to get single line replies that arn’t actually al that helpful, whereas those posted on JP generally get quite in depth and helpful replies. It’s swings and roundabouts really.

Anyway, enough of that, and back to the point! Congratulations, Rich! A good image to start with and I’m sure it will be the first of many. And there’s no need to thank me. I’m just glad I could help. 🙂

ALthough A.net screeners are a bit more picky they will help with fixing rejections.I had a shot denied for ‘Crop’ I asked what was wrong and was told to crop a bit tighter,i fixed it and it was accepted.

Thats a very true point there. I don’t know why JP’s screeners can’t be a bit more constructive.. i know they have a lot of pic submissions to sift thru, but, so do the guys at A-Net and as you say they tell you WHY a shot is rejected.

Scotty
I know what you mean with JP screeners, they seem to reject pictures for 1 reason so you go back and edit that problem and then they find another reason to reject,Why cant they just give all the reasons the 1st time
As for the unlevel situation it can be a real pain in the a55, I use the same method as you by taking lamp posts and buildings as a guide but here in WAW theres a few lamp posts that are leaning due to being run into by airport vehicles so i try to keep the ground level but not all ground is perfectly flat,so youre never going to get a level ground with perfect verticals.I also had a dispute with a screener over this too much/too little…. reason. Why not say 1 way or the other ? How are we expected to put things right when we dont know if its too much or too little of something.

cheers Scotty, and thanks for the tip. I’ve noticed they said a few things on some of my pics, that didn’t seem right to me. Thanks again. 🙂

Well done,Rich! and a fine worthy shot indeed!
Especially at the moment..it seems the JP screeners are getting a bit up their own a***s at the moment (trying to be like A-Net screeners) I recently got a shot knocked back for uneven horizon (i use vertical objects as a guide.. but..they prefer things like light poles and buildings to be slanted now for some reason:confused:) so reworked the same shot putting the vertical objects at a slight angle… it then got knocked back for bad exposure, too much/too little contrast and categories missing!!! all i did was rotate it!!So re-uploaded the first shot…unchanged (apart from a filename change) and it got accepted!!LOL. Left hand having no idea what the right hand is up to etc…
So very well done getting one in.. piece of advice if you get a fine shot knocked back… do nothing! change only the file name and re upload, you will likely get a different screener who will accept it.. i find about 70% of the screeners are fine with 30% clueless or can’t be bothered so just reject.
As for A-net!! don’t get me started there…
