been driving for exactly one year today even though I passed on May 17th 06 :p, purchased my first car at a car auction which was a Ford Fiesta 1.2 (N904MAM) which I actually sold last week after I had an engine problem with it :(.
Sad to see it go but we must move on and I did in the form of Peugeot 405 1.8GLX (N41WKV), got it at the start of February after the Fiesta was on it’s last legs and love it to death as it continues to serve me well and *touch wood* I’ll have it for a long while yet 🙂 :D.

The novelty of offering lifts to anyone who wanted them, even to the corner shop wore off a while ago though ;). Anyone remember their first car? and maybe tell us what their current one is?
Feel free to share pics .

I passed ten years ago in June 1997, went out and bought a 1989 ‘F’ reg Peugeot 205 from a girl I worked with at the time. Sold it to someone late 1998 and saw it again recently driven by a woman in Glasgow, still with my little scottish flag sticker from Halfords on the rear.
Nowadays I participate in a car lease scheme via work, so I get a new car every 2-3 years for a fixed monthly fee which covers insurance, maintenance, road tax, breakdown cover etc etc. Currently on my third car through this method which is a Peugeot 207 Hdi in metallic aluminium finish.

1991 Mercedes E-Class. Parked it outside a hotel in my home town before christmas. Walked out about two ta three hours later after a meal to find it on fire!
Miss it sooo bad. 2.4lt engine. The power was unbelievable.
It also saved my life once. I was going down a road way too fast and suddenly a 90degree bend appeared. I couldn’t slow down in time. Took the bend, dropped a gear, the back swung a tiny bit but it stayed glued to the road. Needless to say I learned my lesson that day. I shudder to think what would have happened if it wasn’t a merc.
