Some time ago I was aking here if anyone knew what happened to the rest of the IWM Lambeth’s Lancaster nose-section, DV372. No one had an answer, but as a possible further clue that she was once a more complete Lancaster, and possibly not that long ago either, in the old PA474 book ‘A Lancaster At Peace’, it speaks of a sort of ‘brass-rubbing’ being made of the ‘IWM’s Lancaster in London’ to ascertain rivet positions etc for when they were planning to fit ‘474 with her mid-upper turret, and taboo track fairing. I may be wrong, but surely that’s saying that DV372 had more fuselage in 1976? Any thoughts?
